VERITAS APPRAISAL SERVICES

Qualified Appraisals for Non-Cash Charitable Contributions
Compliant. Respectful. Thorough.
Supporting IRS Form 8283 with integrity and clarity.
At Veritas Appraisal Services, our sole focus is to provide qualified appraisals for individuals and organizations donating non-cash property to charitable institutions. These appraisals are typically used in connection with IRS Form 8283 and are required when the claimed value of the donated property exceeds $5,000.
We work discreetly and professionally, with a focus on precision. Our reports are built to meet IRS standards and are written to be accessible to donors, attorneys, CPAs, and institutions who rely on defensible, independent valuations.
We do not offer tax advice, but we do work in alignment with the guidelines published in IRS Regulation §1.170A-17 and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
What We Do
Veritas Appraisal Services delivers written, USPAP-compliant appraisal reports for personal property donations. We specialize in appraisals intended for charitable contribution documentation, and our reports are developed in line with what the IRS defines as a “qualified appraisal” conducted by a “qualified appraiser.”
We primarily support appraisals for collectible personal property such as sports cards, comic books, original artwork, and pop culture collectibles.

What’s Included in Your Appraisal Report
Every appraisal we deliver is written to fully comply with IRS requirements under IRS Regulation and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
Here’s what you can expect to find in every report:
- A clear description of the item(s) being appraised
- A definition of the type of value being used—usually Fair Market Value
- An explanation of why the appraisal was prepared, and who it’s intended for (typically the donor, their tax advisor, and the IRS)
- The effective date of value (usually the date of donation), and the date the report was written
- A summary of the work we performed and the sources we relied on (such as sales data, market research, or documentation you provide)
- A straightforward explanation of how we arrived at the value, including the valuation method used
- Notes on any assumptions or limitations (if applicable)
- The appraiser’s qualifications
- A signed certification statement
- And of course, the appraiser’s signature and date
If you’re working with a tax advisor, attorney, or nonprofit organization, they’ll have everything they need to include with IRS Form 8283.
